Blogger is ideal for personal and professional use as the user can simply use only the free services, or go all out with their templates, and even add your domain. Home Blogger account is incredibly easy as most people will be able to immediately start with your existing Google account.
2 WordPress - WordPress is a blogging platform that just recently became the host (unless it is already self-hosted). You have the choice to either start a free blog at WordPress via server or upload the configuration file on their server for their actions. WordPress is designed for more experienced users, and more seriously with its vast majority of available plug-ins and other features.
3 Tumblr - Tumblr is a relatively new blogging platform that is still rising at a higher glory. It is a platform that allows bloggers to not only publish the text on their blogs, and other forms of media, as well, including photos, videos, and anything else. Tumblr makes it a cinch even share things you find on the 'net with their readers within just a few clicks. Connect with your readers is definitely easy to use Tumblr platform.
4 TypePad - TypePad is more professional blogging platform for serious bloggers. There is a free version for those who want personal blogs, but in addition, there are fees for larger blogs that have more features. However, remember that the more featured blogs come with a free trial! With a paid blog, you can get so many features, including control and configuration of your blog layout, widgets, hosting, SEO support, and so much more. This is definitely the real deal for any serious blogger.
5 LiveJournal - in the end, one of the classic platform that calls bloggers use LiveJournal. It is intended to be used for personal reasons, but others use it professionally, as well as to gain popularity with readers. On a personal level, this platform definitely takes the cake with its many templates, mood icons, unlimited long blog, and more. It would not be advisable to go in December because of business reasons, though.
